The fall season has begun and Halloween is soon upon us. This week’s feature is the Googly Eyes Paper Pack. I’m particularly excited by this one because of it’s fun and playful nature. It includes the popular Halloween motif – googly eyeballs. This is typically a motif used in darker themed patterns but I wanted to flip that on it’s head and give these papers a lighter tone. Halloween patterns don’t always have to be dark and scary. They can be cute and playful too. I want everyone to be able to scrap with these; for any Halloween project. I find that it’s playfulness makes it more versatile for scrapbooking and other papercrafts.
I picture these papers being used for everything. From treat boxes to party invitations; greeting cards to scrapbook backgrounds; desktop wallpaper to gift tags. This is a vibrant pack with lots of colours to choose from making it easy to co-ordinate with other Halloween supplies to create a range of themed projects. There’s plenty of other Halloween items in the shop so take a look when you get a chance.
Having a party? Impress your guests with custom gift wrapping paper using these colourful designs! Add these fun papers to your invites and greeting cards to make them stand out. Inspired by fun and whimsy and featuring a modern Halloween pallet. Make the most of this paper pack. Creative diverse layouts like the ones below.
I’ve included three layouts to illustrate how the papers can be used in your scrapbook projects. The layout to the right was created using the blue googly eyes paper from the pack. Although the paper is placed in the background, it is the central focus of the layouts. All the colours and supporting patterns are at a minimum to complement the paper without taking away from it. This is also achieved with the placement of the elements to the side of the page. I like the simplicity of this layout but most of all I am particularly please with how the different colours compliment each other.
The two layouts below are a good balance of colour and neutrality. By using a neutral background in the third layout, I was able to add more than one pattern from the pack to the layout without it becoming too overwhelming. The second pattern is a split screen effect. Adding the orange paper to the left creates a conversational tone to the layout. It adds that bit of whimsy on one side and creates that visual triangle with the other elements placed on the right side. They are a great creative inspiration to get you started on your own projects.
